ARRL Indiana Section Manager
John Poindexter, W3ML
John Poindexter, W3ML - ARRL Indiana Section Manager (In the shack)was first licensed in 1979 and currently holds an Extra Class License. John is a Certified VE, RACES Officer and has held positions of Assistant Emergency Coordinator, Club Presidents and is a member of the Local Emergency Planning Commission and works closely with EMA.

John is no stranger to emergency communications, as he had no more than started in amateur radio and had to operate for MARS sending out hundreds of messages via CW and RTTY to relocate the Cubans that Castro sent to the U.S. in the refugee release. He also was involved in several hurricane nets while living on Eglin AFB.

John is active on the HF bands chasing DX, working contests, and enjoying digital modes. He also is trying to check into the Indiana Section Traffic Nets, when his work schedule allows. He is an active member of the Starke ARC, and is the webmaster and the newsletter editor for the SCARC.
John is a graduate of Indiana State University with a degree in English and is employed by the Knox Community School Corporation. He is a Vietnam era veteran, and served with the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations.  His home town is West Terre Haute, IN where he started in his electronic studies that led to the Amateur Radio license.

    Indiana Section Information

The 15 Divisions of the League are arranged into 71 administrative Sections, each headed by an elected Section Manager (SM). (The Central Division consists of three sections; Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.)

Your Section Manager is the person to contact when you have news about your activities, or those of your radio club. Click on these Section Links for information about your Section Manager and other Section Representatives. These news items could find their way into the Section News. If you need assistance with a local problem, your section manager is your first point of contact. He or she can put you in touch with various ARRL volunteers who can help (such as technical specialists). Your section manager is also the person to see if you'd like to become a section volunteer. Whatever your license class, your SM has an appointment available.
